About me...

I studied Painting at U.C.L.A, and Illustration and Design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. My designs and artwork have been used for home and commercial textiles, paper products, packaging, licensing, advertising, outdoor boards, and children's books. Recently, I created the latest line of textiles for Martyn Lawrence Bullard and will have a line of rugs for Mehraban Rugs which will be coming out in 2021.

My work is influenced by a deep sense of connection to the natural world. I am inspired by the dialogues of pattern, color and form found in flowers plants, trees, insects, and animals, and by the possibility of creating magical realities, using this sense of wonder in my work. I am fascinated by how other cultures connect to the natural world and to each other, and this is often a theme in my work.

In 2006, this led me to develop and and co-curate an exhibition at the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles, California titled:” HEALING: A Cultural Exploration,” 2007. The exhibition was created upon the understanding that people from all cultures desire to create harmony and balance in their lives. The exhibition examined curative traditions through ritual objects and symbols created to relieve the troubles of individuals, families and communities..

As an artist, I am committed to reducing the toxic devastation created by the textile and design industries, and righting environmental social injustice. I strive to work with naturally generated products, textiles and use color palettes based on naturally created pigments, in order to ensure that the final output of my designs are non-toxic and as close to zero carbon as possible.
